Welcome to the Cave of Dragonflies guestbook.
GSDS/Typhloise: I have a field of expertise; it is rather broad and vague, but news are explicitly not included for some very simple, factual reasons: I have no connections in Japan. I do not know Japanese. I am not interested enough in most of the news to actually bother to write articles about them. Saying I am incapable of running a decent news site is not modesty or self-deprecation; it is simple fact.
It is also not about me feeling somehow inadequate compared to the big sites. The point is that I am not competing with Serebii or PokéBeach, or any other site for that matter, to begin with. I have a website so that I can have the things that I want to have on it. Sometimes I feel there is something other sites are lacking that I think there is need for on the Internet, so I do it myself. Other times I just want to ramble on about something I find interesting, so I do that. I have no interest in trying to make people visit my site instead of somebody else's. I just want to make my content and let those who are interested in it read it. Why must everything be about competition? Come to my site if you think my site has what you're looking for. If you think PokéBeach is a better source of news than the Cave of Speculative Theories (which you really should), then for Christ's sake just go to PokéBeach when you want news! I am not interested in just trying to provide everything that they provide so that people will visit my site instead of theirs.
I have things that they don't have; they have things that I don't have. People can come to my site for the things I have that they don't, and people can go to their sites for the things that they have that I don't. I am perfectly happy with that state of affairs.
The "spammifier" (though that's a word invented by guestbookgoers) is there to prevent bots from posting automatic advertisements. Since a bot has no idea what the displayed Pokémon is or even that you're supposed to be typing the name of a Pokémon to begin with, it will not be able to post.
KyuuFox: …uh, that's not going to happen? Why in the world would they do that? You might as well say, "What if in next month's CoroCoro they have a huge picture of a Cherubi with an eraser on its head saying 'HIIII'?" o_O I mean, it's technically valid speculation, but why would anybody take the possibility seriously?
Rude, offensive or otherwise inappropriate messages, including drama, controversy or other topics that might make others uncomfortable, will be deleted on sight. Repeat troublemakers will be banned altogether. Please keep any websites entered into the website field reasonably family-friendly. You can use BBCode (forum code) to format your messages.
Giving an e-mail address is optional; if it is given, you will be notified by e-mail if I respond to your post. If you fill in a website (this should be your own website, blog or social media profile), it will be linked publicly on your post.

I have been visiting TCoD since 2007 and am so glad to see it still going strong. Dragonfree, your spriting guides were invaluable to me back in the day, not to mention TQFtL, which I enjoyed following for years until its completion. Happy to read that you’re doing well and happy 2026!
cool
Wow. 2026 and I'm still here. If I went back in time to January 2005 and told eleven-year-old me I'd still be visiting TCoD over two decades later, I'd be amazed. Or maybe not surprised at all, because I expected the old (good) web to last forever and did not anticipate smartphones, social media, or AI ruining it. Regardless, happy 2026, and I'm so glad my favorite fansite on the web (and one of the best parts of my childhood) is still going!
Not that much of a simXD I am 10-15 but sadly
Rye is my game(this) name same as below
Finally got it
Happy 2026! It's hard to imagine how you'd manage to top 2025, tbh, but I hope you're in for a great year even if it doesn't reach those highs!
How about the mega scizor
(I had to skip legendaries and mythicals(arcues included) just to get this(Sycther, Scizor, or Kleavor, (maybe dialga, celibe, katarna)),I couldn’t get any:(
what a cool website; you’re doing good work here!
Unfortunately not at the moment!
Time to suffer with Zapdos in Platinum :)
bugs
I've used this guide in SoulSilver so many times! Is there one for Omega Sapphire?
fantastic guide; tremendous help - clearly a lot of time and effort went into this, thank you so much
a small hint, or rather comment from my humble opinion; if you're gonna save scum with the vivid scents, it may just be faster to save scum with the time flute - its instant and when you reset the save you can just use it on the next pokemon
thanks again and keep up the good work
This website is pretty rad, love a challenge like this.
First time visiting. had to comment because OMG SHINY PETILIL
Yes, once the artwork for all the new megas and their shiny versions is available.
Just curious, do you intend to update the favorite Pokémon picker to include the new megas introduced in Legends Z-A?
OMG thank you so much that's so useful!
They will be added when there's consistent artwork for them and all their shiny versions available - the picker uses the Home renders, but they aren't in Home yet.
Hi! I was wondering if their were plans to add the Legends Z-A new megas on the favorite pokemon picker? I've been redoing my top 100 every 2 years or so and it's about that time, but I wanna see if I should wait a bit longer for the megas to be added or not. Thank you and love the website :)
DOGS!
I don't think forums per se are very popular in Iceland today; hugi.is used to be a major one but I think it's fairly dead today. But there are Icelandic subreddits, Facebook groups, etc., and some of those are about video games. I'm in an "Icelandic women's video game society" Facebook group, for instance. (Most Icelanders are on Facebook; I'm not a big fan of it but I kind of had to be on there to get event invitations, etc.)
I post in English on the personal social media accounts that I use under my fandom usernames and are followed by fandom people - Tumblr, Bluesky, Twitter, etc. I post in Icelandic on my personal Facebook account under my real-life name, which is mostly followed by my Icelandic friends and relatives.
Nobody in Iceland speaks Danish day to day. We learn it at school but it's the stereotypical most hated subject and people use it mostly only if they happen to move to one of the other Nordic countries to study or work (which a lot of people do). Maybe some people will brush off their Danish if they meet a Danish (or Swedish/Norwegian) person in Iceland, but I expect a lot would instead speak to them in English. I would definitely go for English myself rather than attempt to make myself understandable in Danish.
