All right, I feel I should make some clarifications concerning the forums (see previous two updates for the details of what happened).
Yes, I am going to make new forums. This really ought to be obvious.
When I say "the whole database was wiped", it should also be obvious that yes, this includes your user accounts, and yes, you will have to re-register.
No, I do not know precisely when this will be. My dad is home now and hopefully we can renew the vBulletin license later today. Then I'll need to run the installation, remake a couple of the more essential hacks, recreate all the forums (probably with some tweaks), recreate the important threads (with help from Google cached versions of the relevant pages), remake a couple of custom BBCodes, and recreate the styles; then I can probably open the forums and make some sort of a 'Hack Wishlist' thread for people to request which hacks they would like to see again. Depending on how much I have to do, it could be anytime next week.
All banned members will be able to rejoin with a clean slate, although they will obviously be banned again if they continue to break rules.
Believe it or not, I don't actually personally care that the forums were wiped. It's irritating how much work needs to be done to get them up again, but seriously. My post count? I don't even know what it was. My posts? Normally I'm just fine with not having an archive of everything I've ever said. (The only posts I really miss are the posts in the Crushes thread in which I talked about my attempts to flirt with my now-boyfriend and the elaborate Mafia rules that I'll have to recreate from memory.) My fanfics? Both saved on my computer and posted elsewhere. Okay, I would wish that I had a couple of the exclusive hacks saved just to save time in recreating them, but that's pretty much it. I suppose I might feel different if I participated in roleplays or ASB, but I don't. The most upsetting part of the database wipe, to me, was that it deleted all of the recent entries in the Quest Blog on the Quest for the Legends minipage, which were a lot more personal. There is no need to feel sorry for me. Feel sorry for the people who actually lost something that really was important to them.

Are we allowed to register if we don't post until it is ok? The announcement isn't very clear about that (it says register and post, which could be taken to mean that we can register, but not post yet)
Also, it looks like everybody is getting antsy… To the point that announcements are invisible XD

There isn't anything to be terribly guilty about.. A lot of people did it. Mostly for the same reasons, too.
Still, it would've been nice to keep meeting people I haven't talked to before…
I was just going with the flow. People were registering and posting, so I did as well. It really shows how much trust we put in groups of other people.

Anyway, next week doesn't sound bad. Except, ah, that means no tCoD birthday for Castform. My birthday is on Friday. Oh well, you can;t have everything.
Do not worry, everyone who prematurely registered and posted - the welcoming song will come to each and every one of you when the forums are properly up. I may also add an extra verse, probably commemorating the old forums in all your introduction threads.

rock-ground: I have no control over whether or not you come back; I was just in charge of a few threads and making sure no one did anything stupid. Bring it up with Negrek when she comes back. And ASB won't be back for a while anyway; Negrek told me she wants to make some improvements and has to figure out how to handle some things. I'm waiting to hear back from her before I know how recovering teams will work, though.
Also Negrek left for China after the earthquake anyway o.O
And sorry, Butterfree D: Got a little over-enthusiastic there.

Glad to see the forums again. I was so bored all weekend what with nowhere to post.
It sure is taking a long time to get hat confirmation e-mail though.
Damn, the forums went down. Oh well this means I could come back.
I just went back to the old InvisionFree forums and found out how annoying I was.. I will start over again.
And, be active perhaps. (: I'm still the John Wayne, Hawkfish, and Mewtwo freak. But, less annoying since I'm almost 15 now… And I was twelve back then…

Negrek sent me an e-mail about how to handle the ASB at the new forums just yesterday, so I think it's safe to say that she's all right.
And yes, you will presumably be able to rejoin ASB.
If Kratos is still here, I have a question for him. I was banned from ASB nearly two years ago after a run-in with the ASB law. However, when Butterfree said, "clean slate", does she mean just permabans (Altmer, Jolty, Furret) or forum-specific bans too (me)?
P.S. Remember Negrek? Yeah, the one who started ASB and last logged in on May 13th? Yeah, I remember BabelFishing her sig text, and it said she was going to Sichuan, China, at the time, which, as you know, is the region where the earthqauke hit three weeks ago. So, I encourage all TCOD forum-goers to keep her in your thoughts for now and hope that she returns to the US without a hitch. Okay?
