Welcome to the Cave of Dragonflies guestbook.
This is my third time coming back to The Cave of Dragonflies, and every time I come here I fall in love with the site again. There's just a lot of personality here, or something? I can tell there's just so much thought and effort put into the site, and each time I find something new. It's the best.
Sat through the Marquee of Doom again, which was worth it because it helped me progress in the Clue Game. Lost progress on The Secret Link – I know there was a time when I had found two or three of the clues, but for right now I only have the obvious one. (I mean, that's not quite right. I know you get all the clues once you find one, by changing the clue URL appropriately. But I want to find all the hints, and the secret link itself, as legitimately as possible, whatever that means.) Actually, that's part of the reason I sat through the Marquee of Doom again, but if a clue link was in there, I mentally glossed over it. …I think I'll try to find at least four clues before braving the Marquee again.
Your sprite work is amazing, and you have some really cool guides. (I am particularly a fan of the Gen I Capture Mechanics guide and the Voltorb Flip guide.) This is such a fun site to visit and enjoy, and I've never even brought myself to try Magikarp: tG yet, so there's a lot more in here to discover.
So, yeah! Thank you for making this awesome site and keeping it up over the years. It really is so cool.

This was the best April Fools joke I saw this year. I literally laughed out loud when I saw the first "sponsor" code.
This guy showed up 3 times
…
After 2007, I've always associated today's date with this specific website. And this year didn't disappoint either. Kudos
I probably haven't read your About Me page in two decades? It's funny to reflect on how much has stayed the same, while also seeing the more modern changes, especially now with baby Caterpie's existence! In the wedding lead-up, I used "spleen" to explain to my sister how to say your name the way it taught me, and it will never not delight me. Never stop being your weirdly morbid, quirk-filled self. <3
Meganium kinda good tho
Congratulations on getting such a standout IV spread on the first go. It must be thanks to all the Pokeblocks you lovingly handcraft from scratch every morning. (Thank you for the coupon codes, I use them regularly! But my attempts never turn out as good as the ones I see on PokeTok…guess I should just try more products!)
Happy 6 months to Caterpie. <3
Went to this site for layout inspiration (as usual) and got jumpscared by the motherhood site theme. Very effective prank
It's not April 1st here yet, so I had to stop for second when I first read Caterpie. But it gets more obvious after that lol
Yomp
OMG I was thinking about whether I wanted a Caterpie and I'm glad to say this blog has made up my mind for me! You make it sound so wonderful 😊😊😊😊 But what should I do if mine has poor IVs or is (God forbid) Adamant?? I'm worried I won't be able to love them as much 😰
I think it looks pretty intentional; it defines both the Service Day and non-Service Day values right there together, and elsewhere in the code it uses checking that the minimum bet is 1 as a way to check if we're on the low-bet table. I guess they just thought of the low-bet table as a practice table and the high-bet one as where you actually go to win coins. But of course, I can't divine the developers' intent for sure.
Ah, I missed that looking at the scripts and constants. Do you think this was intentional or a simple oversight? I really appreciated your article, and agree with the other commenter that this is far too complicated for a sidegame of a sidegame.
In the pokeemerald decomp, it's defined in the sTableMinBets array. In the InitRouletteTableData function, it picks out the value at index [tableId + isSpecialRate*2], i.e. 1 for the first table and 3 for the second if isSpecialRate is 0, and 1 for the first and 6 for the second if isSpecialRate is 1. sRoulette->minBet is set to this value, and in Task_PlaceBet, we subtract sRoulette->minBet from the player's number of coins. Am I missing something?
Looking through the decompiled code, there doesn't seem to be a reason that the Service Day increased wager should only apply to the rightmost Table 2?
There's a Bird Keeper in Route 13 named Robert that after beating the Champion has 2 Pidgeot and 2 Fearow which gives a fast 10 Speed EVs in his final rematch.
WAIT I DIDNT READ THAT THIS WAS A COMMENT
