Update

04/05/26: Shiny Picking

How about that update streak, huh?

The Favorite Pokémon Picker now has an option to include shiny Pokémon as separate Pokémon. This has been a common feature request, mainly stopped by the technical aspect of how doubling the number of Pokémon would be problematic for the shortcodes used in the shareable list links. I have now made a change to the shortcode parsing, so that if xx is a given Pokémon, the shiny version of it is identified by .xx, and added a setting to include them as separate entries.

This is separate from the existing shiny mode, which simply involves displaying every Pokémon as shiny – the old shiny mode is still what you'll want to use if you want to find your favorite shinies, while the new mode is for if you want to be able to pick Charizard and Shiny Charizard independently, sort of as if they were two different Pokémon. Most people will probably not want to turn this on, but I've had enough requests for this over the years to know some people really wanted this.

Once again, let me know if anything's not working as it should!

Just the mega, regionals and gmax to be avaiable for gen the original pokemon came from. New pokemon entirely like pichu Something like wiglett is a new name so its stay gen 2 or 9. cause how i see it alolan vulpix still uses the name vulpix so it should be able to be added to gen 1 if i wanted to sort just gen 1. I'm not asking for you to remove regionals or mega from the gen they introduced in. Just asking for them to also be available for the gen the original Pokemon came from as well. With the ability to turn it off still for those who don't see it that way.

354 The above sprite has a 1/8192 chance of being shiny. (Modern browsers will give it a yellow glow if so.)

So basically I wanna be able to click gen 1 only. Then be able to click include regionals, mega and gmax. To have alolan vulpix, mega charizard x or gmax lapras. Same for gen 4 and mega lucario etc. Not asking for new evolutions to be in gen 1 as well.

Just so I have a clearer idea of what you're hoping for: how would you class cross-generational evolutions? Would you want to see Obstagoon in Gen III with Galarian Linoone and Clodsire in Gen II with Paldean Wooper, or do those stay in the generation where they were introduced? If the former, would you also want to see Pichu and Tangrowth in Gen I?

I'd love a feature that includes regionals into whatever gen the original was in. Like if I sorted to have just gen 1 I could include regionals like alolan vulpix or alolan raichu. I personally consider them gen 1. I consider regionals the gen the original is from. It annoying having to add all the other gens just to get the regionals when I wanna pick only gen 1 pokemon. Same applies to mega and gmax. I wanna pick gen 1 with regionals, mega and gmax included.
