Welcome to the Cave of Dragonflies guestbook.
If you write informally, it comes off as more irreverent, personal and fun. If you write more formally, it generally comes off as more trustworthy and like you know what you're talking about.
What do you mean by the style and air of it? What is the difference between the reader experience if it is written in a formal or an informal manner?
It's okay to write however you like! Formal vs. informal just changes the overall style and air of it. There's nothing wrong with writing informally if that's what you're going for.
When writing a rant/guide, is it okay for the writing to come off as informal, or is it recommended to write formally?
If there were a specific time for the next crossword, it would have been sometime prior to a decade after it started. :P I honestly don't know if/when I'll make a new crossword. I've got a lot of stuff to do.
Sibling sites are essentially affiliates that I have a bit more of a personal relationship with.
Is there a specific time for the next crossword to come out? Or do I have virtually infinite time to attempt it?
What´s a sibling site?
Yup, that's me, I'm the one who's way too into PMD lol. Longtime fan of this site.
Super belated, but I'm so stoked about this update, and so pleased I was able to contribute!
Fixed the typo, thanks.
It has been like seventeen years since I wrote the R/S/E tips and tricks, but I would imagine I didn't pick out Meteor Falls because it's less accessible than Route 118, what with needing you to go through the cave and potentially get into other wild encounters on the way.
TACOCAT presumably just entered themselves into the Hall of Fame a lot of times for their own amusement.
The Pokétch would be "POKETCH" in the crossword.
The current crossword is from 2010, so no B2/W2.
Is the Irregular Crossword max updated at B2W2, or is it only up to BW?
What if we need to add special characters into the irregular crossword? I suspect that the answer to one of the questions is "Pokétch." Should it be formatted as "Poketch," as "Pokétch," or as "Poktch?"
@Altissimo
Aren't you that person from PMD Speedruns who was making that ReA tool?
lol man I remember taking this waayyy back when before it was updated and back then I was pretty obsessed, nowadays I score so much lower though
Why does the rulers of the universe section contain so many instances of "TACOCAT"?
For your generation 3 effort values page, what makes Route 118 more preferable to farm Speed EV's than surfing in Meteor Falls (Back/B1F), if surfing in Meteor Falls (Back/B1F) gives a larger net speed EV yield (with golbats giving 2 speed EV's) and that all Pokémon that give Speed EV's in Meteor Falls give the same amount of Speed EV's, then what makes Route 118 more preferable?
Minor nitpick, but
in the Stat Stages page, it says
The moves Metal Claw (10%), Meteor Mash (20%) and Power-Up Punch (100%) have the indicated chance of raising the user's Attack by one stage as a secondary effect.
and also
The moves Charge Beam (70%) and Fiery Dance (50%) have the indicated chances of raising the user's Special Attack by one stage as a secondary effect.
One uses "chance" while the other uses "chances"
The "And no one else" just means "That's the end of the list"! Not that there won't be more people on it.
Verb inflections are different forms of verbs - in English, you've got the past and present tense (e.g. "is" vs. "was", "catch" vs. "caught", "play" vs. "played") as well as the present continuous ("being", "catching", "playing") and past participle (which often looks the same as the past, but not always, as with "been"). In Icelandic we've got some more forms like that.
I'm not sure what you mean about wanting to know how the experimental style functions - I just combined present-tense lines with past-tense lines in an unusual way, on a whim.
The Icelandic national anthem is hard to sing because it has a wide range - you need a significant vocal range to reach both the highest notes and the lowest.
The spam prevention Pokémon are currently only gen 1-7, but I'll probably swap them out when I get around to it.
The parodies page is one of many pages that were taken off the menu at one point or another because I just didn't think it was a great page anymore. There are a lot of pages I originally put up when I was about thirteen years old, and as my taste evolves over time, some pages I just get ehhh about.
Why isn't the Parodies page linked under the humour tab?
Just curious, are there gen 8 'mons on the spammifier, or is it just to gen 7?
