True, but I believe that… I think it was over the summer?… that there was an issue with the 'default' url and we had to use the 'backup'. Most older users know the tcodforums one at least.
Wouldn't make sense to temporarily change the current forum URL to the alternate one? Given that the forum activity is pretty low for the weekend, I'm assuming that most forum goers don't often check the guestbook or use (or know of) the alternate URL.
The IP address changed, so the forums.dragonflycave.com domain needs to be pointed to the new IP. That could take a bit to take effect. But yes, in the meantime, use the alternate URL.

I doubt there'll be loss of data, since Dreamhost is supposed to keep backups even in case something goes horribly wrong.

whenever I click on the bookmark to my profile. I'm so scared, my life was stored my user CP and I wasn't done transferring it to a safer place…
Eventually. I was going to do it ages ago, but then gave up in my frustration with vB4's completely impossible-to-work-with styling system. It may have gotten better by now.

I understand that updating the forums isn't your top priority, but I'm assuming that the forums will eventually be updated to Vb 4.0?
