AAP FAQ
What is Anti-Pokémon?
Anti-Pokémon is the general notion of being against (or basically severely disliking) Pokémon for one reason or another.
What is Anti-anti-Pokémon?
Anti-Anti-Pokémon is, in a way, a counter against Anti-Pokémon. Some AAPers (people who consider themselves Anti-Anti-Pokémon) treat Anti-Anti-Pokémon as the notion of severely disliking Pokémon haters; while technically one could interpret it that way, I am not an AAPer by that definition. I am an AAPer in the sense that I want to defend Pokémon against a certain category of Anti-Pokémon arguments, namely those that claim there is something inherently wrong with Pokémon that means it simply should not be liked, at least not by self-respecting halfway-intelligent teens and adults. Such arguments are for example the animal cruelty argument and the "for babies" argument.
Why don't we just leave the Pokémon haters alone?
That's exactly what I preach.
You're not leaving them alone.
I am. I want to argue when people make unjustified claims about what I like, but I do not believe that is not leaving them alone. It is merely disproving common misconceptions. I do not herd Pokémon haters to my AAP sections to prove to them that they should now like Pokémon; I believe very strongly that they have every right to their opinion of Pokémon. In a way, my AAP sections, despite being written as if intended for Pokémon haters, are not really written on the assumption that the reader is a Pokémon hater; technically, they are self-help for Pokémon fans who are being converted by those Anti-Pokémon arguments to believe that there is something wrong with their liking it. I am really here to reassure them that there is not (not to mention bring some ammunition for those who get bullied for liking Pokémon to defend themselves).
Why "Stop The Flaming"?
Because the amount of hate between Pokémon fans and Pokémon haters is downright ridiculous. A person's opinion of a video game franchise is much too insignificant to hate them for, isn't it? At least that is my opinion, and that is why I founded the club.
What about the other AAPers who flame and all that?
Trust me, I don't have any more respect at all for people who flame the other side if they happen to be on mine. I would prefer not to be associated with those people.
