02/05/07 Erekiburu's English Name, first English screenshot

And yet again, Serebii has revealed a mysteriously unofficial English name for a fourth-generation Pokémon: Erekiburu is apparently called Electivire, with the stress on the second syllable. It's a somewhat similar concept to my guess of Elecable.

Oh, and we have the first English screenshots of Diamond and Pearl. See for example here and, courtesy of foxsundance from my forums as I had difficulties finding better pictures, here. The latter image is especially interesting because it shows "Galactic Grunt" being written in lowercase (rather than the traditional GALACTIC GRUNT). Makes one wonder if this is being changed or if this is just a matter of it being a beta shot of the translation.

And according to this, D/P will be released in June or July in Europe.

It reminds me of squires. And vipers. And wires and fires. And A lot of other stuff. Hmmm... I don't know if I like it or not. seems strange, but also cool.

Hooray for creativity points! Hooray for me liking Electivire more than me liking Elecable! Yay!

So yeah, I like the name. It sounds tough and gruseome, with just the right amount of electicity.

Also, I was happy when I saw the first English screenshot in my NP magazine about a week ago, however, that was a screenshot of the main character and Hikari facing off against two Galactic Grunts (unfortunately, it was before the pokemon were sent out).

Yay! ^_^
