05/15/08 Platinum Announced
So, Pokémon Platinum has been officially announced at the official Japanese Pokémon site, which provides a full version of the Origin form Giratina's Sugimori art (I like it) as well as clearer versions of those two screenshots that were printed in CoroCoro. Nothing new, but this is nice for those interested in images.
*goes to cut that Giratina sprite out of the screenshot and save it*
EDIT: Okay, the screenshot wasn't as clear as I'd have liked, so... I randomly spent a couple of hours recreating it pixel by pixel using the D/P Giratina's palette. If you want a crystal-clear PNG to use in edits, you can use this one if you like:
Also, I don't know if you noticed on the screenshot, but you can see the tiny little shadow underneath the Giratina on the sprite. I find it kind of funny because it's a really tiny shadow and because Giratina is so big, it's actually a pixel above the bottom of Giratina's body.

I wonder what the new stats of gratina is the orgin form will be?
Judging his looks,a huge special attack/defense looks most likely.
I don't know what it's speed will be,it does't look it is focusing on speed,but it is a travel form..

Looks nice... I just thought... Could a dark HP bar be the return of SHADOW POKEMON? Just a thought...
Shaymin and Regigigas
Ah, I also noticed that the movie title is something to the effect of "Regigigas and the Bouquet of the SKY - Shaymin. This leads me to conclude that Shaymin will have the Sky form, and Regigigas will do something else...
My 2nd theory for this is Shaymin becomes an ice type INVERSELY to what it is, a grass type. Spring and summer, warming and hot months, are opposite to Fall and Winter, cooling and cold months. Similarly, Regigigas, a golem, would INVERT to something that could fly.
Of course, I'd prefer the first theory...

Well, my guess is, Nat. Dex is unlocked BEFORE Sunyshore, etc. Otherwise, it would screw up the levels on the rest of the game.

I think Volkner would be at the "Battle Island" or whatever...
Cynthia hopefully stays, if not pulls a Steven...
And the 8th GL will either be some Juan-esque random or Jasmine, due to Magnezone and Amphy, as stated earlier...
Or... Volkner and the first E4 could switch... he said something about "Back to training camp for me! Wait, no, that was wrong... keep going..."
Or it could be YOUR MOTHER. Who knows? Btw... Where is your FATHER????? *falls over*

My speculation with Origin Giratina is that you don't catch it, You have to DEFEAT it, Ruin Cyrus's plan, Get normal Nat dex and not ruin a single thing. Except getting a data of the Giratina.. Whatever.
Catch the Giratina normally after the Nat Dex, And perhaps a new zone opens so you can convert it into Origin form.
I hope it will be like that, It would be awesome.

Aanyway. That theory of yours doesn't make any sense. Why would you HAVE to defeat it the first time? In every single other Pokemon game, it hasn't rolled like that. You've been able to capture the legendary without a major plot twist. Although... Something like that would be VERY interesting to play through...
But the part about a location that would change Giratina's form makes sense. I mean, Deoxys had those meteors in Veilstone, so.
And as for the first theory, it makes a helluva lot of sense that Shaymin might have a Sky form while Regigigas would have another. As for Shadow Pokemon, it would be nice, since I really enjoyed that whole thing with Colo. and XD, but I highly doubt it.
I also hope Cynthia doesn't go and pull a Steven. I liked her even though she was a pain in the asdf to beat the first time around. Volkner getting champion reeks of Emerald do-over.

As I explained in the previous post (seriously, don't post the same thing as a comment on multiple different posts; it's confusing), the kanji for "Sky" in the movie title implies an icy sky.
Shadow Pokémon are almost definitely not returning, as they were a) used in a spin-off series developed by a different company, and b) could not be detected without very special equipment which we have no reason to suppose will be in Platinum. Overall there's nothing to support that theory.

Zora: Perhaps you use those meteors to change the forms for giratina (and regigigas/shaymin) as well as deoxys? They would probably add more...
And I wouldnt be surprised if you had to defeat it the first time - once you do, it goes and hides in that cave that i cant remember the name of

When traded to D/P, an Origin form Giratina would have to change back, as D/P contains no data for another form of Giratina.

So, Butterfree, you haven't considered putting the Origin Forme sprite (as well as a shiny recolor, no doubt) in your Sprite Generator, have you?
Of course, for all we know, the sprite my be beta and the final version may be quite different, and that would only give you more grief when you had to change it.
I'm not one to know whether it would be hard or not to add the Origin Forme (or change it later), though. It's all up to you. =D

i think that as soon as you get that national dex rigth after the elete four, then a special tv program of some sort comes on (similar to r/s/e) saying something flies to spear pillar...just a thought
