Update

11/02/12: Ten Years of TCoD

Happy birthday to you
since two thousand and two.
To many more decades,
and to updates all through.

So today it has been ten years since The Cave of Dragonflies (or "Butterfree's Pokémon Site") first saw the light of the Internet. Unfortunately I spent most of it traveling back from England after my biannual London Expo trip, and on top of that I'm attempting to finish that silly old fanfic of mine for NaNoWriMo, so I'm afraid I don't have an awesome birthday update of epic proportions. My ever-awful traditional poetry will have to do.

Thanks to everyone who's stuck with this site for years and years. You people are amazing.

CONGRATULATIONS, Dragonfree!!! You are truly one of the very very few and rare people that have stuck with this all these years and haven't given up, lost interest, or become inactive. I hope you'll have many more anniversaries in the future, too!!

Happy (belated sshhh) birthday, TCoD. :) The dedication and time you've put into this website is impressive, Butterfree, and I've no doubt you'll keep it up for many years to come.

And seconding the idea that it would be cool to post the last chapter of TQftL on its birthday next year, though I can certainly understand the potential for impatience!

Wow, has it been 10 years? I remember stumbling on this sight about 5 years ago.

Now I feel old.

Ten years? Wow…

I've been a visitor for about eight of those.

I remembered this site had a birthday around now since today's the US election and the day of the 2004 election just so happened to also be this site's birthday. I still remember the update you made.

Thanks for all the nostalgia. <3 It's so awesome that I can still visit this site like I did all those years ago, even though most of the Pokémon sites I visited around then seem to be gone now.

I may not be as big of a Pokémon fan as I used to be, but this site will always have a special place in my heart.

Heh, yes, it seems you and I are pretty much the opposite when it comes to editing and posting things. I said to myself, "Awesome, I finished this fanfic. All I have to do and edit and post it now, so it can't take long!" Four years later…

Congrats on 10 years, this site has really grown!
If not by the 11th birthday, you could (theoretically) have the last QftL chapter out by Christmas or New Years. Just a thought.

I've toyed with that idea, and it would indeed be pretty cool. The question is mostly whether the editing process takes six months. I'd imagine I'll be way anxious to get things posted and probably work faster than usual by the time I'm editing the thing.

Congratulations on keeping the site going for ten years, and here's to everything you have planned for it in the future! Hope you had a fun trip, too.

You know, if your NaNo goes well, you might be able to shoot for posting the final chapter of (this version of) TQftL on its eleventh birthday. That'd be pretty cool if you could pull it off, imo.
