Welcome to this page. Be warned; it contains a few things you may find insulting (no, not racism, just a few things about politics and religion), and it's BORING. So if you want to leave, click here.
No? Well, I'm redoing all the old sections of this page that were made with no sense of humour or anything, including this one. The style I've decided to set this section up with is: I am writing an essay about my hero. Since I am too philosophical and know the only person I can be sure that exists is me. And since I don't want me hero to be nonexistant, my hero is me. And even better, I don't have to search the internet to know everything about myself...
Name: You'd laugh at it. It sounds very weird to all of you English-speaking people. No, I'm not one of you English-speaking people. If that was a surprise, just read a bit more.
Nationality: Icelandic. No, Iceland is not icy, we don't live in snowhouses and we don't have an army, and yes, our idiot prime minister (laugh at his name if you want! Davíđ Oddson! Although it doesn't sound as stupid to you as mine) decided that his opinion on the war in Iraq was more important than 91% of the nation's. And while we're on that subject...
War in Iraq: AGAINST IT!!!! Bush, can't you see that this war was your biggest mistake ever? You've gotten people against you all over the world (including me, so be afraid), the Iraqis don't consider you a lifesaver and the oil companies think it's too risky to go and get the oil.
Michael Moore: A genius. Bowling for Columbine was the. Best. Documentary. Ever. He didn't intend for it to be just a collection of facts, he wanted it to be a movie you can laugh your head off while watching and go out thinking "That was so hilarious". He didn't mix up that gun club president's speeches to make him look bad, but to make the movie better.
Age: 13, since February 18th.
E-mail address: hlinonnu@torg.is (may actually give you a clue about my real name...)
Favorite pokémon: Charizard, Butterfree, Scyther, Flygon, Grovyle. In order. Then a bunch of others.
Favorite Eeveelution: Jolteon, Espeon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Umbreon. In order again. No, I don't like Umbreon. Big deal.
Favorite Legendary bird: Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos. Do I need to tell you that it's in order again?
Favorite Legendary dog/cat/beast/whatever: Raikou, Entei, Suicune. Obivously in order. And no, I don't really like Suicune either. I don't know why I never like the pokémon everyone else likes.
Are they dogs or cats? Cats. But I still call them the legendary dogs.
Least favorite pokémon: KINGDRA!!!! THAT STUPID EXCUSE FOR A DRAGON!!!!! ...well, that's my opinion. No offense if you like Kingdra. I don't.
Reason why I hate Kingdra: Do you really want it? OK, but it will get me in a bad mood and I may start shouting at the end of it. Well, here goes... first off, my first impression of Kingdra (the Gold sprite when battling Clair) was "It's drunk". I still can't look at the Gold sprite or anything similar to it without thinking "It's drunk". Then of course, Clair's Kingdra is probably the most annoying thing you'll battle in-game... but that's not all. When I got Crystal and traded for three level 100 pokémon to use in the Battle tower, that stupid Kingdra is the luckiest creature on earth!!! First off, it always paralyzes me on the first hit with Dragonbreath... I'm always fully paralyzed when I'd give it the final blow and then it Rests everything away... every other attack critical hits... LUCKY!!!!! LUCKY!!!!!!!! LUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRGH!!!!!! HELVÍTIS, HELVÍTIS, HELVÍTIS!!!!
The meaning of helvítis: The Icelandic word for the place down there.
The meaning of Skitty and Surskit in Icelandic and Swedish: Replace the the K in them with H. And sur (well súr in Icelandic's case) means sour. In Icelandic they'd be bad grammar, not in Swedish.
Oh, wasn't this supposed to be about me?
Religion: Well, I believe in God, but I don't believe in the Bible. Personally I'm offended by the fact that the Bible clearly states that the woman is worth no more than a man's rib and was only made because the man was lonely. But if I have to remind you that people are free to believe what they want, I will. Don't send me mails saying the Bible has nothing to do with male superiority, because I won't listen to you and it would be a waste of time. I'd also like to mention that I'm not against people for their religion, so would you mind not being against me for mine?
Political party: Would be Socialist if I weren't aware of the fact that to make it work, people would need to be perfect, which they are very far from being.
Mottos:
As the pokémon are newer, the good ones are fewer.
Know your enemies, for they may not be your enemies at all.
Come on. I won't bite. Or will I? Mwahahahahahaha... (yes, I do bite. If I feel attacked. I've found that it's a pretty good way to fend off stupid people like the boys in my class.)
I come from the mountains (I know you don't get it).
Fólk er fífl (I know you get this even less.).
Favorite food: Lasagane
Favorite color: Dark blue

Can't think of anything else to put here...
No, I won't make it THAT boring... change it to...
WARNING, EXTREMELY BORING TEXT AHEAD! CLICK HERE TO LEAVE!
Well, the first thing I knew of pokémon was that one of them was pink. It was on the news on the radio. There was something else said about it that I don't remember now, but it caused me to think later that this pink pokémon was Slowpoke. Well, after that, there was an article about pokémon in the newspaper that happened to include an interview about pokémon with a boy in my class. That caused it to be hung up in the classroom, and I read it. It included pictures of Pikachu, Magnemite, Gastly, Drowzee and Mewtwo. I thought the pokémon games were very boring back then... it was September 2000.
...Well, then the pokémon craze started. Everyone in the whole school except me collected pokémon cards, it seemed. Because hate towards all crazes of any sort is naturally built in me, I found myself thinking pokémon was very stupid right away. Of course I checked out some pokémon cards, but I found them very uninteresting, and I swore that I'd never spend money on junk like that. And I haven't by the way... I've never been a fan of the cards. I just once found a Jigglypuff card outside, and once I got a Fossil deck as a gift. That's all the cards I have.
Well, I happen to have two cousins who always hook on crazes. The next time I visited them, their rooms were full of pokémon cards and they had, of course, gotten Red, Blue and Yellow. And they managed to convince me to at least try Yellow...
I have a very special memory from that first time I played a pokémon game. I was playing it, doing my best to think "Oh, this is so stupid", but not with much success. I thought I didn't like it, but deep down I did. I had my Pikachu against a Metapod in Viridian forest, and then I suddenly thought: "But what a bloddy good idea this is!" And I realized that I really was loving it, that these games really were great...
And so, I asked for a Game Boy Color and Pokémon Yellow for Christmas. Meaning that I got my first pokémon game, Yellow, Christmas 2000. I played it all day, and soon became one of the pokémon experts of the school...
Although I didn't find out that you could continue after beating the Elite Four and catch Mewtwo until the day after I beat the game and restarted. Well, maybe that was for the best. I had wasted my Master ball on Articuno (which I had announced to my cousins as "hey, I used the Master ball, on that bird, in the cave), and beat the Elite four with Articuno at level 65 and everyone else at level 52 or somewhere around that. At least, when I restarted, I was determined to do better, and I did. I now actually knew far more about pokémon than my cousins did... and it was then when I started visiting pokémon websites. They were mainly just all these Maxpages that contained nothing but the Missingno. cheat and a bunch of fake cheats. I stumbled upon Pokemon.com and thought it was really great... -_-;; I was stupid back then.
I got Gold. That was after a second visit to my cousins, when they had gotten Gold and Silver. I tried Gold, and again, I wanted the version I tried. So I got Dad to buy it for me. That was late summer 2001, it I remember correctly...
We sold our house, but the new house wasn't finished, so we moved into a tiny apartment while we were waiting. I only brought Gold there, and having almost nothing else to do, as we didn't even have an Internet connection there, I played Gold all day. Soon I had evolved all of my pokémon to their final forms (except Pupitar, I didn't know it had another evolution).
When we got into the new house, I started surfing the net for pokémon sites again. I found Mew's hangout, such a great site, and started dreaming about my own website. I actually started making up sections for it in my free times. Yes, that's right, I decided how to word all the sections that were originally on the site before I even knew what HTML was.
Crystal came out. I got it Christmas 2001.
Well, then Dad started teaching me HTML. While I made one stupid little site about cats that's not on the internet as a test, I also sectretly made my pokémon site. Originally it had no background color, the index consisted of too big links to the other sections, which consisted of too big links to the sub-sections. When I seriously started thinking about making a pokémon website, I got Dad to teach me more HTML, and Butterfree's pokémon site was born. Yes, that was the original name, if you didn't know. I was extremely inoriginal...
I found Serebii.net after Ricky talked about it in the guestbook at Mew's hangout. It was a whole new world of information and, more importantly, news. Being updated daily meant that it had everything new almost instantly.
I joined the Serebii.net forums at long last, when I got the courage to actually join a forum instead of just sticking to Mewkitty's guestbook. Before that, the nickname I used had always been Butterfree, but it was already taken at the Serebii.net forums. So I ended up inventing the nickname Dragonfree to use there.
I got NetBattle. Of course I was no good, but I learned a lot from it. I used Dragonfree there too, because I thought Butterfree sounded too weak. I started to like the Dragonfree name and decided to use it from now on, except for where I was already Butterfree. I joined the pokemonicons forums after Serebii.net went down. Then I found the pokemasters forums by accident, really; someone stole Zak's episode guide and posted it at the pokemonicons forums, and then Kasumi-chan posted, saying "You stole Zak's guide! And here is the proof!" linking to Zak's guide at the pokemasters forums.
I had thought the pokemonicons forums were big. But in comparison to this, they were tiny! I had never checked the number of members or posts or anything at the Serebii.net forums, but when I saw the pokemasters forums had more than 9000 members, I was really impressed. And I joined. I even found that my favorite fanfic from the Serebii.net forums, From Rookie to Champion by Kecleon, was also there, although the author had a different name (ShinyMarill). I stuck to the pokemasters forums, along with the Mew's hangout forums, which had been put up a while before.
Well, Serebii.net came back, and I was among the first people who rejoined the forums. The pokemonicons forums were deleted, but shortly before that I got my own forums. Before that, however, I got Sapphire. I actually went to the computer store because I was going to buy a link cable so I could trade my Crystal pokémon to Gold and restart Crystal. Instead, however, I spotted Ruby and Sapphire. I decided I'd jsut borrow my cousins' link cable, bought Sapphire and for the first time for more than a year and a half, I got the thrill of playing an entirely new pokémon game.
Just this summer, my Danish relatives came to visit us. Their daughter restarted my Yellow version and saved. I will miss my Yellow pokémon forever... goodbye, Charizard, Pikachu, Pidgeot, Blastoise, Dragonite and glitched Jolteon... *sniff*
Later, a post at the pokemasters forums got me to vgmusic.com, a great site that has music from video games, pokémon of course included. There are some absolutely wonderful remixes there, you really should go and check it out.
Huh? You're still reading? You haven't given up yet? I'm not the only person who always reads the "about me" section? Wow! You deserve a reward! Let's see... what do I have... oh, yes! I'll give you a secret link clue!
